CALOOCAN NORTH E/S

CALOOCAN NORTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL was a priority project of Hon. REYNALDO O. MALONZO, Caloocan City Mayor in the year 2003 with coordination of the Schools Division Superintendent, DR.ELIZABETH T. MANALO.

 

After the approval of Ordinance No. 1394, 2005 (Proposed Ordinance No. 1064, an ordinance changing the official name of selected public schools in the first and second districts of Caloocan; Camarin D Elementary School Unit 1 is renamed.., CALOOCAN NORTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. It was recognized as a separate and district elementary school within Caloocan when Resolution No. 1764 s. 2007 (Proposed Resolution No. 3992) Resolution Granting Recognition was approved on Nov. 3, 2006.

 It was only one kilometer away from Camarin D Elementary School and has total land area of about 7, 125 sq. meters. The school was composed only of two (2) buildings with twenty (20) classrooms. It was a former dumpsite which was developed into a beautiful school site through the initiative of the City Mayor.

In June 2003 it had a total enrollment of 2, 927 with 46 classes ad 39 permanent teachers who came from Camarin D Elementary School and 11 Local School Board Teachers. DR. CONCEPCION M. BUNAG was the Principal and DR. EMMA A. SAWAN was the District Supervisor.

On July 21, 2003 another building with four classrooms donated by Filipino Chinese Chamber Inc. was constructed.

Door grills in each classroom in Building A and B were the project of the HRPTA 2003-2004.

On October, 2005, the covered court, a project of the City Mayor, Hon. Atty. ENRICO “RECOM”

 

ECHIVERRI was constructed and completed on February, 2006. The construction of the school stage followed with dressing room/comfort rooms.

On August 29, 2006, the construction of the three-storey six classroom building started on Sept. 19, 2006 and completed on April, 2007, another project of Mayor Enrico “RECOM” ECHIVERRI.

The enrolment is continuously increasing because the catchment area is thickly populated. More buildings are still needed to accommodate the school going age population. The site has no more traces of a former dumpsite. It is well developed and has a new look – a site, where a beautiful school is located with clean and beautiful surroundings, where ornamental and flowering plants spread and shady trees grow bigger.

On July 18, 2007 DR. CONCEPCION M. BUNAG transferred to CAMARIN MAIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

It was then that a new principal, who came from CEILITO ZAMORA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, took over the position in the person of DR. AILENE A. CANOY. The District Supervisor was DR. JOSEFINA V. DELA CRUZ. .

The construction of the OCA building donated by CONGRESSMAN OSCAR “OCA” MALAPITAN, with fifteen (15) classrooms started on December 2007 and was turned-over on June 2008.

On March 2008 window pane grills at the Building E were installed for the children’s safety including the six (6) steel doors of the school’s comfort rooms in Buildings A and B.

Some of the improvements during the SY 2008 – 2009 are the additional water tank, Science laboratory (at the OCA Building), and the Material Recovery Facility.

All improvements and the new look of the school will not be made possible and become a reality without the help of the National and Local Government, school and community.  It was also a practice of CNES parents to meet and talk about the needs of the school. They give voluntarily donations and prioritize projects which are eventually evident in the school today.

On January 07, 2010 DR. AILENE A. CANOY transferred to KAUNLARAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

The incoming principal who came from CAMARIN MAIN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL and transferred last January 08, 2010 was DR. ALICIA M. ARREOLA, Principal IV. The District Supervisor was DR. JOSEFINA V. DELA CRUZ and the Schools Division Superintendent, OIC is MRS. CORAZON M. GONZALES.

The development of the physical aspects and facilities were improved, the landscaping of Building A and B and entrance area. Ancillaries identified and were functional, clinic, H.E.,MRF, Industrial Building were established. Reconstruction of the school canteen, extension of the kitchen area and tray area has been tiled and screened as per requirement of a school canteen. Fire extinguishers were installed. The Principal’s Office was renovated and constructed the dining and kitchen area.

 Dr. Arreola also motivated the spiritual values of the pupils, teachers, parents and the community. To uplift such values she constructed a grotto with waterfalls beside the entrance gate which has tables and chairs for anyone who wanted to relax, reflect and pray.

During the School Year 2010-2011, Folder Divider of Building B’s Rooms 11-17 were installed and a Mini stage which served as the Function Room of the school which accommodates 300-350 persons.

The E-Classroom was installed in Building D. It has six (6) flat screen monitors with 1 CPU and one

  1. E-Board and projector. Two (2) air conditioning unit and one (1) additional projector were installed for a more convenient environment for pupils using it. Dr. Arreola encouraged the teachers to use the active board for more interesting teaching-learning experiences.

A children’s library was installed in Building D. Two (2) gazebos were constructed beside the stage to accommodate those pupils who were having remedial classes.

The stage was also fully renovated with high ceiling with poly carbonate for comfortable viewing during programs especially on rainy days.

Multi-media equipment’s were installed:

  1. Installation of PLDT telephone landline and broadband with wifi

  2. 4 (four) desktop flat screens computer

  3. 4(four) laptop

  4. 4(four) overhead projector

  5. 2(two) white screen

  6. 1(one) paging system

  7. 2(two) Xerox machine with built-in scanner (3 in 1 – photocopier, printer and scanner)

  8. 1(one) fax machine

  9. 3 (three) printer

          10.1(one) portable wireless amplifier

 

Covered path walk with stainless bars was constructed through the School Pupil Government and GPTA 2010-2011.

During the School Year 2011-2012 Dr. Arreola requested of a three(3) storey nine (9) classroom Dep-Ed building which was completed on March 2011 to accommodate the school’s on-going increase of population from 2, 927 in 2003 to 6,581 with kindergarten in School Year 2012-2013, from 29 classes to 119; and from 39 permanent teachers 124.

In June 2012 BEIS in the office was reconstructed, Five (5) cubicles for staff tables made of wood and glass were installed.

Teachers’ health and personal values were improved through SLAC/Conferences, relaxation and socialization. Methods and strategies have been innovated for effective teaching. Teachers continued post graduate studies.

Indeed, DR. ALICIA M. ARREOLA accomplished and complied the 2010-2013 SIP (School Improvement Plan). Pupils’ curriculum and physical development continuously been complied with the present. Followed-up the Annual Improvement Plan (AIP) made for SY 2012-2013 of CALOOCAN NORTH ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, not only the physical facilities, curriculum and pupils’ academic improvement but also the teachers’ professional and personality development.

 

It was on September 15, 2013 that DR. ALICIA M. ARREOLA retired.

The incoming Principal who came from MANUEL L. QUEZON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL and transferred last November 13, 2013 was DR. DULCE V. NOTARIO, Principal IV. The District Supervisor was DR. VIRGINIA MANAID and the Schools Division Superintendent is MRS. RITA E. RIDDLE.

 

There are also improvements during her leadership. She introduced the SIP and SIM in Science and strictly monitored the reading intervention. She also introduced the SBM (using the bulletin boards in the classrooms for easy monitoring.) The new buildings constructed were Building G (4 story building with 16 classrooms, Building H (3 story building with 12 classrooms) and Building I (4 story building with 16 classrooms). Water tanks for the new buildings were also installed through the help of NGO and LGU. The fencing at the back was fully finished and the rehabilitation of the front gate was also done. There was also an additional exit at Building E Gate 3 beside the grotto (old).

Indeed, DR. DULCE V. NOTARIO accomplished and complied the 2013-2014 and 2014 -2015 AIP (Annual Improvement Plan) and SIP (School Improvement Plan). School facilities are maintained and immediate repairs were done.

It was in SY 2017- 2018 that the school purchased a six (6) cameras CCTV which was installed in front of the office, gate 1, 2 & 3m back gate and at the canteen.

On April 01, 2018, DR. DULCE V. NOTARIO retired.

The incoming Principal who came from MANUEL L. QUEZON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL and transferred last May 22, 2018 was MRS. GLORIA B. TECSON Principal III. The Schools Division Superintendent is DR. CECILLE G. CARANDANG.

​

During her first month in school she already asked the help of parents to maintain cleanliness in school especially toilets. It was only a week of implementation having additional utilities assigned in designated comfort rooms in all school buildings; school children are already comfortable in using the toilets.
